Derwent Poetry Festival 2008

The festival features some of our best modern poets.
The opening reception and presentation of the 2008 Templar Poetry
Pamphlet and Anthology Prizes is followed by a reading from the
acclaimed Liverpool-born poet, Paul Farley. On Saturday and Sunday
the authors of four new Templar Poetry pamphlets, four collections
and a poetic biography read and talk about their work.

Poets featured include Paul Farley, Tim Liardet, Jane Weir, Pat
Winslow, Rob Hindle, Dawn Wood, Jane Routh, Pat Borthwick and
Jo Haslam. Four new pamphlets are launched by Siobhan Campbell,
Mike Barlow, Katrina Naomi and Maggie O’Dwyer and anthology
poets are reading from their work at events hosted by Angela
Cleland. All ten newly published titles are available from the Festival
Bookshop with our previously published poetry and a wide selection
of second hand books. The Bookshop is open throughout the festival
in the Arkwright Suite. Along with the Bookshop are stands and
displays from poetry magazines and other presses and an exclusive
exhibition of original paintings by our guest visual artist, Karen
Isherwood.

The Festival events all take place in the Arkwright and Archive
Conference Suites located above the Working Textile Museum at
Masson Mills. The venue is on the A6, half a mile south of Matlock Bath and close to the Matlock Bath Railway Station which connects to Derby mainline routes and is on main Bus Routes.
