2008Black Dog Publishing‘Gardening is punk. Like the spare liberty of the
anti-establishmentarians who believed that you could start a
movement in three chords, gardening needs only four chords - seeds,
sun, soil and water. Like punk music, punk gardening is the
manifestation of do-it-yourself creativity. Using a stick to till
is punk. Using a roto-tiller is not.’
Are you a penniless artist with a passion for growing things
but not enough money to have more than a window ledge on which to
grow them? Or a young enthusiast for all things green but only an
bin alley outside your London flat in which to display it?
Black Dog Publishing is celebrating creative gardening on a
shoestring, and is looking for ideas for their new title Growing
Stuff. If you wish to see your ideas and experience of urban
horticulture in print, whether it is growing tomatoes in carrier
bags or something more exotic, please email them to paul@blackdogonline.com.
