Seeking an Author and an Illustrator / Artist, National Museums Liverpool

The Walker Art Gallery is a part of National Museums Liverpool.  National Museums Liverpool (NML) is pleased to be working in partnership with Liverpool Children’s Services on this exciting project to produce a children’s storybook which encourages engagement with and exploration of its fine and decorative art collections.

The resource would be based on a character from the art gallery and would in turn explore the building and the fantastic things on display. The storybook will also include lots of things to do based on the characters and the emphasis is on the children actively engaging with the story.

The Write Stuff

The London Jazz Festival in association with BBC Radio 3 is once again working in partnership with Jazzwise magazine to build on the huge success of The Write Stuff initiative. This scheme aims to give aspiring music writers the opportunity to work with professional journalists to improve their writing skills, receive insights into career paths and develop an understanding of jazz criticism – as well as getting to go to lots of concerts!  The initiative will include sessions on feature writing, reviewing and editing, and will be led by writer and broadcaster Kevin Le Gendre, with additional input from Jon Newey, Publishing and Editorial Director of Jazzwise, and a range of other leading industry figures and writers.

This unique and significant creative award carries a US$ 100,000 prize divided between three categories - the main prize, a youth prize and a prize to recognise imprisoned artists.
