Outdoor Poetry Feature Commission

The Polesworth PoetS Trail (Ppst!) aims to create a poetry walking trail that enhances local pride through a celebration of contemporary poetry.  Ppst! also aims to revitalise the poetry tradition of Polesworth by acknowledging the presence of poets/writers such as Michael Drayton, Ben Johnson, John Donne and some say William Shakespeare among others who spent time in the village Polesworth over 400 years ago. This commission is for the design and creation of the first installation on the trail.

Launch of New Michael Rosen Poem for NHS 60th Anniversary

Comedian Harry Hill and Sir Michael Parkinson, are amongst well-known figures from the world of entertainment, sport and children's literature who have come together with the Children's Laureate Michael Rosen to support and appear in a short film to illustrate Michael’s poem, “These are the Hands”, written for children to mark the NHS 60th Anniversary.

New Lit Up Events

Plans to get more quality live literature work programmed by arts venues nationwide have received a boost with new Arts Council England (ACE) funding for a series of showcase and conference events. The Live Literature Consortium - which produced the highly successful Lit Up event in 2006 - has been awarded £64,000 to continue its drive to help create, produce and promote new work.
