RSPB and Norfolk Reads
and Writes, Human:Nature
RSPB staff and volunteers are encouraged to take part in the
county-wide reading and writing project, Norfolk Reads and Writes,
Human:Nature. Four places per site specific creative writing
workshop are offered at no cost to RSPB staff and volunteers,
reserved until May 01st. See the

RSPB Writer
in Residence
Mark Cocker, author of Crow Country, will be
the New Writing Partnership’s RSPB writer in residence. This
involves Mark conducting a day-long creative writing workshop for
RSPB staff on the 26th June, and developing workshops for six
RSPB Bird Friendly schools workshops taking place in June. Mark
will also lead an outing to RSPB nature reserve Strumpshaw Fen on
Wednesday June 18th, acting as host to the group of visiting New
Writing Worlds writers.
Partnership
Events
An Afternoon at the Bishop’s Garden: The RSPB will
collaborate with the New Writing Partnership on this event,
taking place in Norwich on June 15th. There will be RSPB
stalls and family activities as well as readings from the East
Anglian wave of nature writers, plant-selling, refreshments and
more.
Future Imperfect: The Debate: The RSPB will also
contribute to the New Writing Partnership’s flagship event at
Norwich Playhouse. RSBP scientist Professor Rhys Green will be
taking part in the debate with writer Giles Foden, Professor Andrew
Watson from the UEA, Tony Juniper, Director of Friends of the
Earth, MP Ian Gibson and Graham Creelman OBE.
