Balli Jaswal

Balli Jaswal (Wong Fellow 2007) was born in Singapore and grew up in Japan, Russia and the Phillipines.  She studied creative writing at Hollins University and George Mason University.  She has published short fiction in journals in Singapore and the US, and has taught literature at the Anglo-Chinese School in Singapore.   She currently holds the 10th David Wong Fellowship at UEA – the youngest recipient to date – and is working on a novel set in Singapore between the 1970s and the present, tentatively titled, When Amrit Returns, which will focus on the unravelling of an Indian immigrant family when their youngest daughter goes missing.
