Po Wah Lam (Wong Fellow 1998) was born in Liverpool and moved to
Hong Kong at the age of six months. He then returned to the UK at
the age of 7. He studied interior design at Brunel
University, England and was the first person to be selected for the
David Wong Writing Fellowship at the University of East
Anglia. He published The Locust Hunter in 2004, the
story of a young boy who sets with four friends to avenge the
killing of his pet, in the turbulence of 1973 Hong Kong. 2006 saw
the translation of The Locust Hunter for the German
market. He is currently working on his next book, 'a memoir of his
late uncle’s dog’.
