Rattawut Lapcharoensap (Wong Fellow 2004) was born in Chicago.
He was educated in Bangkok, then at Cornell University, and at the
University of Michigan, where he received an MFA in creative
writing. His stories have appeared in Granta, Zoetrope, and Glimmer
Train, as well as Harcourt's 'Best New American Voices' series,
edited by Francine Prose. He currently lives in Brooklyn. His
collection of short stories,
Sightseeing, was published in 2005. It was selected
for the National Book Foundation's '5 Under 35' programme, won the
Asian American Literary Award. It was also the only work of fiction
to be shortlisted for the 2005 Guardian First Book Award.
