John Burnside’s collection The Asylum Dance won the Whitbread Poetry Award and was shortlisted for both the Forward Poetry Prize (Best Poetry Collection of the Year) and the T S Eliot Prize. He teaches on the M Lit in Creative Writing at St Andrew’s University.  His next collection of poems appears in February 2005 and is entitled The Good Neighbour.
