 | | | | | | Susie OrbachSusie Orbach works as a psychotherapist who is interested in
bringing the understandings of the consulting room – the craft,
theorising, excitements and difficulties of the work of the analyst
– into the public sphere. She finds interesting similarities
between writing and analysis and has written in many different
forms – from Fat is a Feminist Issue and What Do Women
Want? for the mass market – to books for a rather more
specialised audience such as Hunger Strike. Her
publications include The Impossibility of Sex, which is a
set of fictional tales about the experience of psychoanalysis from
the therapist’s point of view. She has also been a cultural
commentator in The Guardian for many years.
