Simon Prosser has worked as Social Sciences Publisher at Blackwell in the UK and USA, and at Hodder & Stoughton as a popular culture and fiction editor. Since 1998 he has been Publisher and sole editor at Hamish Hamilton/Penguin, where his authors include Zadie Smith, Hari Kunzru, Dave Eggers, Jonathan Safran Foer, Alain de Botton, Ali Smith, Iain Sinclair, Noam Chomsky, Toby Litt, W G Sebald, Susan Sontag, James Kelman, Pat Barker, Adam Phillips, Ekow Eshun, Tom Hodgkinson and Jonathan Freedland.  He is co-director of the Port Eliot Lit Fest and editor (with Hari Kunzru, Chloe Ruthven and Francis Upritchard) of the new literary/arts journal The Lawn.
